LUKOIL starts construction works at Gumbulak and Adamtash fields

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Russia’s LUKOIL started wide-scale construction works at its projects in Uzbekistan, the corporate newspaper of LUKOIL Overseas “Neftyaniye Vedomosti” reported.
The paper said that construction works have been started at gas-condensate field Gumbulak and Adamtash in southern-western Gissar in Kashkadarya region. The company also started works on increasing mining at Jarkuduk-Yangi Kyzylcha field.
The main objects are facility on complex preparation of gas with the capacity of 4.5 billion cubic meters a year, supporting stock base area of 15 hectares with warehouse and fuel storage, as well as camp for 250 people, utilities and transforming station.
Besides, the company plans to drill over 400 mining wells (10 wells were already drilled), construct external electricity supply line, raw materials collection system, gas pipeline for commercial gas and steam return line.
The company’s paper said that special attention is paid to construction of roads as the fields are located in mountainous areas and in various areas.
It is planned to construct 132 km two-lane roads with width of 8 meters and reconstruct 30 km of existing roads as it is planned that large trucks with 100 tonnes of cargo will run on these roads.
LUKOIL said that some 1,000 people and 200 equipment will work at the construction and assembly works at the construction of the objects in Gissar. It is planned to launch the main objects in 2015. The volume of investments will exceed US$1 billion. The geologic reserves of the block makes up about 100 million tonnes of standard coal.
The company recalled that it received the first gas within the project at Jarkuduk field in the end of 2011. In 2012, about 1.15 billion cubic meters of gas produced at the block. In the first three months of 2013, the gas production at the field grew by 6% year-on-year to about 250 million cubic meters of gas.
LUKOIL also started wide-scale works on construction of booster station at Khauzak field in Uzbekistan.
LUKOIL Overseas said that it is planned to launch new booster station by the end of 2013 and it will allow to increase gas production by 20% a year.
Three huge bulldozers, including Сaterpillar, are working at the field of the booster station near preliminary gas preparation facility. The foundation for concrete-mixing unit was constructed.
It is also planned to build foundation for equipment. LUKOIL is also constructing town for builders of booster station.
LUKOIL said that it is planned to test the first compressor, which is produced by MAN Diesel & Turbo for Khauzak. After tests, the compressor will be delivered to construction field.
LUKOIL underlined that booster station of MAN Diesel & Turbo will be used in Uzbekistan for the first time. The company said that construction of booster station and reconstruction of preliminary gas preparation facility will increase gas production up to 4 billion cubic meters a year.
