Number of Uzbek population exceeds 30m persons

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Number of the resident population in Uzbekistan as of 1 April 2013, in line with the preliminary data, was 30 million persons, Gazeta.uz reported quoting the Uzbek State Statistics Committee.
In the first quarter of 2013, the number of population rose by 0.3% or 82,300 people.
According to the data of the committee, some 15.401 million people (51.2% of population) live in the urban areas and 14.675 million people (48.8%) in rural areas.
In January-March 2013, the birth rate was 16.6 pro mil and decreased by 0.3 pro mil in comparison with the corresponding period of 2012 (16.9 pro mil). In the reporting period the death rate was 4.7 pro mil (4.8 pro mil).
In the first three months of 2013, some 54,500 marriages and 4,900 divorces were registered in Uzbekistan. There were 7.4 marriages (in January-March 2012 – 7.5) and 0.7 divorces (in January-March 2012 – 0.7) per 1000 population.
According to the preliminary data, number of arrived persons into Uzbekistan was 41,900 persons in January-March 2013 (30,200 in 1Q 2012) and those, who left the country, – 47,400 persons (37,500 in 1Q 2012).
