Uzbekistan adopts programme on services development in rural areas

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov signed a resolution “On additional measures on speeding up development of services in rural areas in 2013-2016” on 17 April 2013.
The document was adopted to speed up and balanced development of services in rural areas, expand access of rural population to high technologic and market services, create new jobs and improve income of population.
Uzbek President Islam Karimov approved a programme on further rapid development of services in rural areas of Uzbekistan for 2013-2016.
The programme envisages to increase the volume of services by 1.8 times by 2016 compared to 2012. According to the programme, the growth of services will make up 14.7% in 2013, 15.1% in 2014, 15.7% in 2015 and 16.1% in 2016.
At the same time, it is expected that communication and information services will grow 1.8 times by 2016 compared to 2012, financial services – 1.8 times, transport services – 1.9 times, tourism services – 2 times, healthcare services – 1.8 times and education services – 1.6 times, etc.
The programme envisages implementation of 45 projects with estimated cost of 906 billion soums.
At the same time, commercial banks will allocate 768.2 billion soums to implementation of these projects. Resources of ministries, departments and economic unions will make up 64.7 billion soums and own funds of entrepreneurs – 73.1 billion soums, etc.
According to the document, Khalq Bank will issue over 91.395 billion soums within the programme, Microcreditbank – 67.433 billion soums, Agrobank – 54.433 billion soums, National Bank of Uzbekistan – 40.981 billion soums, Qishloq Qurilish Bank – 40.962 billion soums, etc.
