Uzbek-French archeological mission finds ancient high-relief

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- An Uzbek-French archeological mission to Northern Bactria found a high-relief from white limestone in good conditions, which was used stone-works, the French Embassy in Uzbekistan said.
The sculptures height is about 40 cm and is part of Greek-Buddhism frieze, which decorated temple in Chingiz 2 hall in Old Termez. The sculpture has images of rich man and woman, which was created in Greek, Indian and Bactrian culture.
The sculpture was placed to Archeological Musuem in Termez and it will become subject of scientific researches soon.
The Uzbek-French cooperation in archeology is one of key areas of cooperation of two states. This cooperation helps to promotion of rich cultural heritage of Uzbekistan.
