Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Tashkent Medical Academy held a conference titled “Problems and prospects of surgical treatment of patients with chronic cerebrovascular insufficiency in multifocal atherosclerosis”.
The conference was attended by experts from Russia, Turkey, Austria, Israel, and other countries. In addition, some 200 guests from leading research institutions and clinics of Uzbekistan were invited to the event.
The participants discussed the specifics of the diagnosis and treatment of patients with chronic cerebrovascular insufficiency in multifocal atherosclerosis, surgical treatment of patients with combined lesions of the carotid and coronary arteries, surgical treatment of chronic cerebrovascular insufficiency in patients with renovascular hypertension, etc.
One of the pressing issues of modern vascular surgery is a problem of chronic cerebrovascular insufficiency in multifocal atherosclerosis. Ischemic stroke has long passed from the medical problems to the social.
Along with the continuous increase in the number of patients with this disease, with each year the proportion of patients with combined lesions in different arterial beds, which are the leading cause of mortality (3-18%) and disability (12-40%).
