IMF says Uzbekistan’s GPD to grow by 7.4% in 2012

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The International Monetary Fund (IMF) said in its report “World Economic Outlook” that the gross domestic product (GDP) of Uzbekistan will grow by 7.4% in 2012.
In April 2012, the IMF experts forecasted that the economy of Uzbekistan will grow by 7% in 2012.
According to the IMF report, the GDP of Uzbekistan will grow by 6.5% in 2013, which did not change compared to April 2012 forecast.
The IMF raised its forecast on inflation in Uzbekistan from 12.7% to 12.9% in 2012. The forecast for inflation rate was cut from 10.9% to 10.7% in 2013, the IMF said.
Current account balance surplus will make up 4.7% to GDP of Uzbekistan in 2012, the report said. The figure will reach 3.3% in 2013.
