About 1,500 cases of illegal currency circulation revealed in Uzbekistan in Jan-Sep

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Customs officers of Uzbekistan revealed 1,462 cases of illegal circulation of hard currency, equivalent to 2.9 billion soums in nine months of 2011, the State Customs Committee of Uzbekistan said.
At inspection of passenger at Tashkent International Airport, who was planning to fly from Tashkent to Almaty, custom officers found bread with hard currency in it. Citizen of Samarkand was planning to smuggle USS$27,600 abroad.
Citizen of Jizzakh region Habiba I., passenger of Tashkent-Istanbul flight, was detained with US$8,500. She did not declare part of money.
Currently, investigations are underway on these cases.
