Lukoil plans to develop solar energy in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Russian oil company Lukoil is planning to develop alternative energy in Uzbekistan, the President of the Russian company Vagit Alekperov stated at the Forum of Youth Specialists of Lukoil.
Vagit Alekperov said that Lukoil OJSC, the Government of Uzbekistan and the Asian Development Bank are designing largest solar power station.
He said that the capacities of the power station will be 100 megawatt in the first phase and later will reach 1000 megawatts or 1 gigawatt in future. He did not disclose the project cost or implementation terms.
