Share of non-state sector in Uzbekistan’s GDP makes up 77% in 1H 2011

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The volume of gross domestic product (GDP) of Uzbekistan, according to the preliminary estimation, amounted to 32.09 trillion soums at current prices in January-June 2011, or increased by 8% year-on-year.
In the structure of GDP by forms of ownership, the share of the non-state sector is 77.1% (in January-June 2010 – 76.5%) and that of the state sector – 22.9% (in January-June 2010 - 23.5%).
The State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said that goods production in the structure of GDP made up 39.8% in the first half of 2011 compared to 40.3% in the same period of 2010 and services - 48.3% in the reporting period of 2011 versus 47.1% in the same period of 2010.
Share of net taxes on products and export-import operations in GDP decreased from 12.6% in the first six months of 2010 to 11.9% in the same period of 2011, the committee said.
