Chinese Eximbank plans to issue US$42m to Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Export and Import Bank of China (Eximbank) is planning to issue US$42 million to Uzbekistan for construction of high voltage line 500 kilovolt “Syrdarya thermal power station – Novo-Angren thermal power station”, Prime agency reported quoting source in Uzbekenergo.
Eximbank of China and Ministry of Finance of Uzbekistan signed a memorandum of mutual understanding on use of loans for implementation of the project.
The loan agreement will be signed in July-August 2011. The loan will be issued for 20 years with five year grace period. The loan is issued within the credit line of China to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
