Russian-Uzbek JV Andijancable to invest US$7.8m to production modernization

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Andijancable, a Russian-Uzbek joint venture in form of open joint stock company, will invest US$7.8 million to technological modernization and expansion of cable-wire production in 2011-2015.
The project has been included into the programme on priorities of industry development in Uzbekistan for 2011-2015.
Within the project, the enterprise is planning to launch production of LAN-cables with the capacity of 50,000 lm and weave nets with the capacity of 50,000 square meters a year.
The project will be financed due to loans of commercial banks for US$2 million, own resources of the venture for US$1 million and foreign investments and loans for US$4.8 million.
Construction of Andijan Cable Plant started in 1981. The first line was commissioned in 1985. Russian Farial acquired 51% stake in the enterprises for US$1.151 million in 2001. Besides, the Russian company received 19% shares to assets management. In 2001, Andijancable OJSC was reorganized into enterprise with foreign investments.
