Some 1.832 trln soums directed to housing construction in Jan-Sep

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Out of the total volume of investments utilized in the non-production sphere in Uzbekistan in nine months of 2010, about 1.832 trillion soums or 51.9% of their volume were used in housing construction, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.

As earlier reported, total volume of utilized investments in fixed capital in Uzbekistan made up 10.761 trillion soums in January-September 2010, which is up 8.1% year-on-year, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.

About 7.23 trillion soums of investments (67.2% of their total volume) were used in production branches of the economy and 3.531 trillion soums (32.8%) – in non-production branches.

In January-September 2010, about 60,000 apartments with the total space of 7.15 million square meters (+12.4% year-on-year), including 5.079 million square meters (+17.9% year-on-year) in the rural area, were built and put into operation.

According to the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan from 3 August 2009 №PP-1167 “On additional measures for expanding scales of housing construction in the rural area” in January-September 2010, some 3,600 houses with the total space of 427,900 square meters were built and put into operation in the rural area. Some 366.5 billion soums of investments were used for this purpose.

Out of the total investments utilized in the non-production sphere, some 327.6 billion soums (9.3% of their total) were used for construction of education establishments, 246.6 billion soums (7%) – in communal construction, 236.7 billion soums (6.7%) - in construction of medical establishments.

About 166.6 billion soums of investments were used for construction and reconstruction of academic lyceums and vocational colleges, which made up 4.7% of investments in the non-production sphere and 50.9% of investments in education.

Some 53.6 billion soums of investments were used for new construction and capital reconstruction of hospitals and out-patient departments, 18.9 billion soums – for construction and capital reconstruction of other projects of health care, which made up 22.6% and 8% respectively of investments in public health.

About 68.8 billion soums were used for construction of water-supply networks, of which 31.6 billion soums – budgetary funds (45.9% of their total volume), 19.2 billion soums - foreign investments and credits (27.9%), 11.1 billion soums – means of population (16.1%); 9.7 billion soums were used for construction of gas networks, of which 9.5 billion soums (97.6%) - means of population.

In January-September 2010 construction works were fulfilled for 6.017 trillion soums, which grew by 9% year-on-year.

Out of the total volume of construction works, some 85.8% fell to new construction, reconstruction, expansion and technical re-equipment of enterprises, 12.5% – on capital and current repair and 1.7% – on other contract works.
