President Islam Karimov invites Indonesian leader to visit Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov invited his Indonesian counterpart Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono to pay an official visit to Uzbekistan and to make a pilgrimage to several Islamic historical sites in Samarqand and Bukhara.
Indonesian Foreign Ministry said in a statement that President Karimov conveyed his personal invitation to President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono during the meeting with the Indonesian Ambassador to Uzbekistan Mohammad Asruchin.
Uzbek leader underlined before the crisis, the bilateral trade volume between Indonesia and Uzbekistan was quite impressive, however this condition has not reflected at the moment. Both sides need to encourage their cooperation specifically in the investment sector.
The relation between the two nations needs to be strengthened including increasing the number of visits by officials from both nations and through a periodic Bilateral Consultation Forum.
