Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — By the end of 2025, a total of 452 outdated elevators in Tashkent will be replaced, as their operational lifespan has already expired. This decision was made by the city’s khokim (mayor).

The new elevators, produced under the OSTEN brand, will be manufactured at the facilities of “Technopark.” Currently, Tashkent’s residential buildings house a total of 9,101 elevators, of which 2,042 (22.4%) have exceeded their permissible service life. As part of the modernization initiative, 452 elevators—representing 22.1% of all outdated units—will be replaced.

The modern elevators set to replace the old ones will meet high safety and energy efficiency standards.

Priority for replacement will be given to elevators that have been in operation for more than 25 years, those that fail to meet technical requirements, and those with reduced safety levels.
