The Chairman of the Board of the National Bank of Uzbekistan for Foreign Economic Activity (NBU) Saidahmad Rahimov met with the Chairman of the Bank for Development and Foreign Economic Affairs (VneshEconomBank) Corporation of the Russian Federation Vladimir Dmitriev and the Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Development Bank of Kazakhstan Igor Finogenov on 4 July in Tashkent.

The parties discussed the prospects of cooperation between the institutions. In particular, they discussed co-financing of large investment projects in the sectors of agriculture, oil and gas, and construction, as well as the financing of export and import operations and the delivery of advanced technological equipment to Uzbekistan.

Moreover, the parties showed interest in financing the projects of inter-regional nature, aimed at the development of the region’s infrastructure as a whole.

Following the talks, the Chairmen of the NBU and the VneshEconomBank agreed on the signing of the Bilateral Cooperation Agreement, which, the parties believe, will serve as an impulse for the development of trade and economic relations between Uzbekistan and Russia.
