According to the legislation, CEC forms district election commissions 70 days before elections and the commissions should consist of chairperson, deputy chairperson, secretary and at least 6-8 members.
Jokargy Kenes of Karakalpakstan, regional and Tashkent city Council of People’s Deputies recommend candidates to the commission.
Among the members of district election commissions 56.6% are representatives of wider public who have practical experience in the preparations and holding of elections. About 36.8% are women, 12 of them are represented in the leadership of election commissions.
It is worth to mention that number of women in the commission made up 8% in parliamentary elections in 2014 and 15% in presidential elections in 2015.
Now, district election commission should form polling stations in line with the legislation.
