Jamshid Kuchkarov participates in Conference of Emerging Market Countries
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 16 February, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Minister of Economy and Finance, Jamshid Kuchkarov, participated in the opening of the Conference of Emerging Market Countries, held in Al-Ula, Saudi Arabia.
This prestigious event was organized by the Ministry of Finance of Saudi Arabia and the International Monetary Fund (IMF). It brought together finance ministers from leading emerging countries, central bank leaders, representatives of international organizations, and experts.
The official opening ceremony of the conference began with introductory remarks by Saudi Arabia’s Finance Minister, Muhammad Al-Jadaan, and IMF Managing Director, Kristalina Georgieva. The main theme of the event was "Sustainable Growth: Building Resilience in a Changing World," where global economic trends and key challenges faced by emerging market economies were discussed.
The importance of close cooperation between emerging countries and international financial institutions, effective public debt management, and ensuring macroeconomic stability were also emphasized. It was affirmed that such conferences serve as an important platform for strengthening regional and global cooperation.
Following the opening ceremony, sessions continued, focusing on pressing issues such as global economic changes and their impact on emerging countries, financial policies and investments, and public debt stability.
