Israel donates new equipment and provides training for specialists at the RCSAC

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 7 January 2025, as part of ongoing cooperation, the Embassy of Israel and the Israeli Agency for International Development Cooperation (MASHAV) donated two hippo-trainers to the Republican Center for Social Adaptation of Children (RCSAC). These devices are designed for children with cerebral palsy.

The advanced equipment simulates horseback riding, which helps improve coordination and strengthen muscles. The use of these trainers activates the musculoskeletal system and aids in the development of motor skills. Notably, cerebral palsy ranks as the third most common condition among the center’s patients.

The donation coincided with the launch of a training course on working with children with autism spectrum disorders. The course, organized for specialists from the Tashkent center and its branches in Samarkand, Karshi, and Fergana, was conducted at the request of RCSAC. The lead expert for the course was Marina Tredler, an Israeli specialist who had previously trained the center’s staff twice on behalf of MASHAV.

At the opening ceremony, the Israeli Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Gideon Lustig, highlighted the significance of the center’s work and the dedication of its staff. He emphasized that this project continues a long-standing partnership and serves as an example of the successful implementation of Israeli technologies and methods in pediatric medicine and therapy.

“We are proud to share our expertise with our Uzbek colleagues. This contribution symbolizes not only support for the center but also the strengthening of ties between our countries,” the ambassador stated.

Vasiliya Alimova, Director of RCSAC, expressed gratitude to the Israeli side for its continuous assistance and active role in the development of the center. She noted that the use of advanced Israeli methods has significantly improved the quality of services provided and has helped children with disabilities adapt more quickly to society.

Methods developed and applied by Israeli specialists have been in use at RCSAC since its early years of operation.

The center offers comprehensive assistance to children from socially vulnerable groups, including medical, social, psychological-pedagogical, and legal advisory support. Special attention is given to children with disabilities, orphans, and those at social and legal risk.

This project not only strengthens the partnership between Uzbekistan and Israel but also contributes to improving the quality of life for children who require special care and support.
