Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Construction of two new enterprises for the production of cable products and other components for energy transportation has begun in the Eltech Industrial technology park, the Uzeltehsanoat association said in a statement.

The new enterprises will operate in Akhangaran district of Tashkent region.

Enco Group intends to create facilities for the production of high-voltage cables, copper tubes and insulated busbars. The volume of investment in this project will be US$57.5 million.

United Cable Co. is implementing a second project worth about US$20 million.

According to the association, work is underway to provide new areas of the technology park with utilities. The substation for power supply to enterprises is already 70% ready, and a gas pipeline and water supply are connected to the park.

Eltech Industrial technology park is being created near the city of Akhangaran (Tashkent region) in accordance with the Presidential Decree of January 10.

The main task of the technology park is the development of “high-tech electrical equipment of a new type” and corresponding components.

The Eltech Industrial technology park is planned to be managed with the involvement of an international consulting company with experience in the field of technological development.

The Agency for State Asset Management has announced a competition to attract an international professional consulting company to manage the activities of the technology park in order to effectively organize the activities of the state institution “Directorate for Management of the Eltech Industrial Technology Park” and develop a master plan for the technology park.
