Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) signed a number of documents on 2 March to create Uzbekistan Public-Private Partnership Project Development Facility.

Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan Jamshid Kuchkarov and EBRD Managing Director for Central Asia Zsuzsanna Hargitai signed two documents in Tashkent.

In particular, the parties signed a loan agreement on the creation of Uzbekistan PPP Project Development Facility.

Representatives of Uzbekistan and the EBRD also signed an agreement on the creation and activities of the Uzbekistan PPP Project Development Facility.

According to the EBRD website, the bank provided US$10 million to Uzbekistan to create Uzbekistan PPP Project Development Facility. The loan was approved in December 2023.

The facility is being created to finance the costs of preparing public-private partnership projects in Uzbekistan.
