"At present there are negotiations between Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan," A. Tumenbayev said.
As it was informed before, in Bishkek in June 9-10 of this year a regional meeting of directors of hydroeconomic and fuel-energetic fields of Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan took place. Main issue, which is set for discussion, referred to one of the most important topics in Central Asia - usage of resources of Naryn-Syrdarinskiy basin this year and in the first quarter of 2009.
During the talks participants agreed for supply of Kyrgyzstan of 1 billion кWatt-h of electroenergy to the contiguous countries and additional flows of the water in the volume of 1,2 billion cubic meters above domestic consumption. However, Uzbek side refused to sign a protocol of the quadrilateral meeting on unknown reasons, in connection with which a decision was made on the meeting to fulfill electroenergy export and additional flows of water only on signing of quadrilateral agreement.
Uzbekistan expressed a wish to sign a quadrilateral agreement only with Kyrgyz side on usage of water-energy and fuel resources of Naryn-Syrdarinskiy basin, ignoring quadrilateral agreement on this issue.
