Barack Obama defeats Romney to win second term
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Barack Obama has been elected as the US President for the second term after he collected over 270 electoral votes.

According to the latest data, incumbent US President collected 290 electoral votes, while his Republican opponent Mitt Romney had 203 electoral votes.

Barack Obama already announced his win in presidential elections at its official website and micro blog Twitter. He expressed gratitude to all those, who supported him during election process.

According to the US TV stations, Obama claimed victories in such swing states as Ohio, Florida, Virginia and Oregon. These states gave 67 electoral votes to Barack Obama.

It is worth to mention that Barack Obama defeated Mitt Romney in his native Michigan and Massachusetts, where Romney served as governor from Republican Party.

In the USA, the candidate, who collects 270 electoral votes from total 528, wins presidential elections. The candidate, who collected majority of votes in states, claims all electoral votes. Latest polls before elections showed that the candidates were neck-to-neck.
