Access to justice for citizens to be further expanded
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed a law introducing amendments and additions to several legislative acts.
The document includes revisions to the Civil Procedure Code, the Economic Procedure Code, and the Code of Administrative Judicial Proceedings, aimed at broadening opportunities for citizens to participate in court hearings remotely.
In particular, witnesses, experts, specialists, and interpreters participating via videoconference must be informed of their rights, duties, and responsibilities. Their oath will be recorded using audio and video equipment, with the recording officially documented in the court session minutes.
To facilitate remote participation, videoconferencing systems installed in courts near the place of residence, temporary stay, or the location of the case in question will be utilized.
The law takes effect upon its official publication.
