A hotel opened at Tashkent International Airport

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A hotel was inaugurated at the departure terminal of airport of Tashkent. The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of Uzbekistan Airports, the hotel operating company, journalists from various media outlets and bloggers.

The hotel is located in the departure terminal waiting area to the left of the Art Bazaar complex. The hotel provides 24 mini-rooms on two floors. The ground floor will also have bathrooms and a shower room, a reception desk and an information board, and each room has an individual boarding invitation system.

“The mini-rooms are designed like small cozy cabins with a full-size single bed and a minimal set of accessories - a lamp, a mirror, a clothes hanger, a shelf for hand luggage, a table. The essence of the hotel is that a passenger can stay here for several hours during a transfer without leaving the airport or leaving the transit zone,” the company’s press service noted.

Through bidding on the electronic platform E-auksion.uz, the hotel with a total area of 240 sq.m was transferred to the management of a private company and will operate under the Khamsa Hotel brand. Tariffs for using the hotel, set by the operator, vary from 30 to 150 dollars depending on the length of stay and room class: out of 24 rooms, 23 are standard rooms and 1 is a luxury room, allowing family accommodation.

It is worth noting that the hotel is designed in oriental style by the famous domestic artist Bobur Ismailov.

“The capital’s airport is turning into a modern international hub before our eyes, and I am very happy to make my modest contribution to its transformation. Our project is designed in a completely different style than similar hotels in many airports around the world. We tried to convey the authenticity and luxury of the East, and in the capsules themselves to preserve European minimalism and compactness. Unfortunately, not every transfer passenger can stay in Uzbekistan and see ancient cities and culture. Therefore, our goal was to create an authentic atmosphere right at the airport,” said artist Bobur Ismailov.
