Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The 15th meeting of the Steering Committee of the CAREC Institute (CI) was held in Astana, Kazakhstan, following the 23rd Ministerial Conference of the CAREC Program.
High-ranking representatives from participating countries such as Azerbaijan, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Georgia, Mongolia, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan, along with experts from the Asian Development Bank, took part in the meeting.
The session was chaired by Sanjar Bolotov, Deputy Minister of Economy and Trade of Kyrgyzstan. The discussions focused on the main achievements of the Institute in 2024, including successful events such as the Forum on the Development of Analytical Centers and the Research Conference, as well as new partnerships and projects.
CI Director Kabir Dzhurazoda also presented plans for the upcoming years. In 2025-2026, the emphasis will be placed on enhancing trade, improving climate resilience, and advancing digitalization.
Additionally, the CAREC Climate Plan was approved, aiming to enhance the region’s resilience to climate change, as well as to improve infrastructure and transport.
The meeting also emphasized the need to activate the Institute’s work, improve its budget, and attract new specialists to ensure long-term financial sustainability.
The meeting underscored the importance of cooperation for sustainable development and regional integration, as well as the Institute’s continued success in 2025.
