Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A flock of pelicans was recorded for the first time on the territory of the Central Kyzylkum National Natural Park. This was reported by the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of Uzbekistan.
Pelicans are large seabirds whose body length can reach 130-180 cm and weight from 7 to 14 kg.
There are two types of pelicans known in Uzbekistan - pink and curly-haired. They are included in the IUCN Red List and the Red Book of Uzbekistan as an endangered species.
