Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 25 November, the city of Tashkent hosted the 15th round of political consultations between the ministries of foreign affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea.
The delegations were headed by First Deputy Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Furkat Sidikov and Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Korea Chae Yong Sam.
The parties noted the special significance of the event, which is held in the year of the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, as well as the 85th anniversary of the Korean diaspora in Uzbekistan.
It was noted that over the past years, Uzbek-Korean relations have reached an unprecedented high level of special strategic partnership, primarily due to active exchanges in the political, trade, economic, investment, tourism, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
The summit of the leaders of Uzbekistan and Korea in Seoul in December 2021 gave a fresh impetus to bilateral relations.
The Deputy Ministers discussed further steps for the practical implementation of the agreements and agreements reached at the highest level. Particular attention was paid to issues of practical cooperation in the areas of investment and trade, innovation, information and communication technologies, education, civil service development, healthcare, labor migration, culture and others.
The event was also attended by representatives of a number of ministries and departments of the republic with proposals for expanding cooperation.
The parties also exchanged views on interaction within the framework of international organizations, as well as topical regional issues.
