Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan’s canoeist Vadim Menkov won a gold medal at the men’s C1 1000m at the 2009 ICF Senior Canoe Sprint World Championships on Lake Banook in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, 15 August 2009.
Menkov showed 3:55.947 to clinch gold medal of World Championships. Uzbek canoeist finished first part of distance with 56.687 (56.687), 1:54.974 (58.287) and 2:56.828 (1:01.854).
Mathieu Goubel of France was second with 3:56.047 and Sebastian Brendel of Germany took third place with 4:00.215.
