Uzbekistan, Pakistan discuss current situation in Afghanistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 15 January 2021, the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Pakistan Sayyid Ali Asad Gilani.

A thorough exchange of views took place on the current situation in Afghanistan and the efforts of the international community, as well as the two countries to expand cooperation in the Afghan direction, in particular, to launch a peace negotiation process in this country.

The Ambassador of Pakistan especially emphasized the significant role of Uzbekistan in establishing long-term and sustainable peace in Afghanistan, as well as involving the country in regional integration processes.
