Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The total cost of measures to support the population and the economy during the coronavirus pandemic made up US$6.1 billion, the press service of the Yuksalish National Movement reported.
The total cost of the measures introduced to support the population, sectors of the economy and business entities during the coronavirus pandemic as of 9 July 2020 is estimated at 62.59 trillion soums (more than US$6.13 billion).
According to Yuksalish, the costs of the Anti-Crisis Fund under the Ministry of Finance reached 5.29 trillion soums.
Tax and customs benefits exceeded 1.63 trillion soums, tax deferment and suspension of penalties - 2.51 trillion soums.
According to Yuksalish, support measures in the banking sector amounted to 48.21 trillion soums.
Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan allocated 3.3 trillion soums for financing the program "Every Family is an Entrepreneur" and opening a credit line for the development of services.
1.63 trillion soums were allocated for measures to support the real sector of the economy.
1.7 trillion have been sent to combat the spread of coronovirus infection. soums. 157.6 billion soums were allocated for the purchase of medical equipment and products.
Uzbekistan allocated 385.9 billion soums for the purchase of PCR tests, medicines and personal protective equipment, 257.6 billion soums for additional financial incentives and the payment of 6% surcharge to health workers.
599.1 billion soums were spent on the construction of quarantine zones and special hospitals. About 299.8 billion soums were directed to quarantined individuals.
At the expense of budgetary funds - over 72.0 billion soums - medical products and equipment were purchased:
500 mechanical ventilation - US$5.75 million (57.5 billion soums);
60 ultrasound machines - US$648,000 (6.5 billion soums);
10 PCR devices - US$210,000 (2.1 billion soums);
60 defibrillators - US$280,000 (2.8 billion soums);
90 tons of cardiomonitors - US$180,000 (1.8 billion soums);
500 pulse oximeters - US$125,000 (1.2 billion soums).
By decrees and resolutions of the President of Uzbekistan, 500,000 entrepreneurs and over 8 million citizens received benefits and preferences in the amount of about 30 trillion soums.
The volume of loans allocated under the family entrepreneurship development program in 2020 will be about 4 trillion soums.
It was identified 583,000 low-income families in need of material support and they received material assistance in the amount of 307 billion soums.
1.7 trillion soums were sent to fight the spread of coronovirus infection: 29.3 billion soums from the Charity and Health of Uzbekistan Public Fund, 31.4 billion soums from the reserve fund of the Cabinet of Ministers, 68.6 billion soums from the state budget Mahalla Fund - 81 billion soums, funds of the State Reserve - 123.5 billion soums, funds of the Anti-Crisis Fund - 1.35 trillion soums.
At the expense of the Public Works Fund, temporary employment of about 230 thousand unemployed was provided, the movement said.
At the same time, through subsidizing the development of household plots and the creation of agricultural cooperatives, more than 33 thousand low-income families were provided with employment.
Due to subsidies for the development of entrepreneurship, 3 thousand unemployed were employed among the population and 20 thousand unemployed received unemployment benefits.
Employment of 374 thousand citizens for three months of work was also provided. About 27 thousand unemployed received benefits totaling 10 billion soums.
