Uzbek Ambassador to Germany receives young scientists

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A meeting was held at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Germany with members of the delegation led by Advisor to the Minister of Innovative Development of our country Karsten Heinz.
The delegation included 13 young Uzbek scientists who were selected on a competitive basis for undergoing a two-week internship at German research institutes.
The head of the diplomatic mission N.Kasymov noted that Germany is famous for its educational institutions, scientific centers and wished young representatives of Russian science to show activity, enthusiasm and a scientific approach during the internship.
The participants of the event received information that work is underway to create an Uzbek-German technical university, which is supposed to introduce the German education system. Currently, a strategy is being developed, according to which not only citizens of Uzbekistan, but also neighboring states will study at the new university.
The sides considered the results of an event held by the Embassy last fall on the topic of innovative ideas, within the framework of which a presentation of about 20 projects prepared by Uzbek students and university graduates living in Germany took place.
All these projects are aimed at strengthening relations between Germany and Uzbekistan in the scientific, economic and social spheres. In addition, ongoing work is ongoing to strengthen direct links between universities and hospitals of the two countries.
It should be noted that about 90 candidates applied for a program organized by the Ministry of Innovative Development of Uzbekistan together with the Federal Ministry of Education and Research of Germany. Applications were considered by a competent commission and young scientists who successfully passed the competitive selection received a ticket to a grant program for continuing education in German research institutions.
