Israel celebrates Independence Day of Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 10 September 2019, the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Israel hosted a reception on the occasion of the 28th anniversary of state independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The event was attended by members of the Government and Parliament of Israel, representatives of political, economic, scientific, academic, cultural and humanitarian circles, the diplomatic corps, the diaspora, as well as compatriots living in Israel.
In his congratulatory speech, Israeli Minister of Environmental Protection Zeev Elkin expressed gratitude to the people of Uzbekistan for providing refugees to Jewish refugees during the Second World War, which helped save the lives of tens of thousands of Jews. This historical fact, which will always be remembered in Israel, once again speaks of Uzbekistan as a country with a high degree of religious tolerance and hospitality.
The Israeli side values the strong bilateral ties that have developed over almost three decades, based on mutual respect, common values and the desire for cooperation. As emphasized, welcoming the ongoing large-scale transformations under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Israel is interested in expanding and deepening mutually beneficial partnership with Uzbekistan in various areas. An important contribution to the ongoing dynamics of the development of relations is made by the numerous diaspora of immigrants from Uzbekistan living in Israel.
The performance of the Israeli Oriental Dance Ensemble "Star of the East" under the direction of a native of Uzbekistan Janna Kadyrova, who vividly and emotionally performed in colorful Uzbek national costumes, was highly appreciated.
During the reception, a photo and video exposition was also organized about the rich historical and cultural heritage of our country, the economic and tourist potential of Uzbekistan, as well as an exhibition of applied art.
