Field anti-corruption training takes place

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Republican Interdepartmental Commission on Combating Corruption and the Academy of the Prosecutor General’s Office jointly with the UNDP Project “Combating Corruption through Effective, Accountable and Transparent Management Institutions in Uzbekistan” held a training on 21-23 August 2019 in Bustonlyk district of Tashkent region on the topic: “Combating corruption in the context of the Global Development Agenda - 2030”.
The event was organized as part of the UNDP Global Anti-Corruption Project for Peaceful and Inclusive Societies in the Asia-Pacific Region (ACPIS).
The event was attended by representatives of the General Prosecutor's Office, the Supreme Court, the Business Ombudsman, NIMFOGO, the Agency for Informatization and Mass Communications, the Academy of the Prosecutor General, as well as departmental coordinators of state bodies.
Anga Timilsina, UNDP Global Anti-Corruption Program Program Advisor, UNDP Anti-Corruption Program for Peaceful and Exclusive Societies of UNDP (ACPIS) Aida Arutyunova, and UNDP Global Program Anti-Corruption Research Analyst Charlene Louis acted as international experts.
The three-day training provided an opportunity to discuss the need for a unified approach to the implementation of the Global Agenda for Sustainable Development until 2030.
Along with the exchange of experience, international experts and national participants worked to obtain knowledge and skills, in particular regarding effective monitoring and reporting on progress towards the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, as well as identifying corruption risks in industries such as healthcare, education, construction and public procurement, with the goal of integrating anti-corruption in national sustainable development strategies.
