The decision to develop and adopt a “road map” was made following the meeting of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev with the Director General of the International Labor Organization, Guy Ryder, who visited Uzbekistan in December 2018 as part of the international conference “The Future of the World of Work: Initiatives to Ensure Decent Employment” on the eve of the 100th anniversary of the international labor organization. ”

The document consists of 7 sections and 65 paragraphs and defines the areas of interaction for the implementation of international labor standards in national legislation, notes the special role of improving the mechanisms of social dialogue, developing the potential of employers and workers organizations.
In addition, the “road map” reflects measures to ensure decent employment and the development of professional skills among the unemployed. A number of measures are aimed at strengthening the status of the state labor inspectorate and further improving the system of labor protection and safety in Uzbekistan
The document also provides principles for promoting gender equality, developing a multilateral comprehensive National Employment Strategy, as well as expanding international cooperation under the auspices of the ILO.

According to him, the experience of Uzbekistan in implementing the conventions of the Organization can serve as an example for all countries of the world.
