Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The political dialogue between Belarus and Uzbekistan has noticeably intensified, and our country views Uzbekistan as an important promising partner. The chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich said this at the opening of the plenary session of the I Forum of the Regions of Belarus and Uzbekistan.
- A high level of mutual respect and trust of the heads of our states is the guarantor of the successful work of our Forum. Belarus considers Uzbekistan as an important promising partner in Central Asia. The political dialogue between our countries in recent years has noticeably intensified: inter-parliamentary and intergovernmental contacts have become systemic, and trade and economic ties are being strengthened. However, there is no reason to calm down: mutual trade must be increased at a higher rate in order to achieve a turnover of US$1 billion a year. This task was set by the presidents.
Mikhail Myasnikovich voiced suggestions that will help achieve these goals. Among them: analysis and harmonization of treaties and agreements that govern cooperation between Belarus and Uzbekistan; harmonization and unification of national legislations that will allow aligning trade regimes and creating comfortable conditions for business; the creation of joint companies and the development of investment activities; development of joint innovation projects.
