Uzbek student wins the Olympic silver medal in mathematics in Yoshkar-Ola

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Student of the Branch of the Russian State University of Oil and Gas in the city of Tashkent Shamshod Botirov awarded the silver medal of the Open International Student Olympiad-2019 in the discipline "Mathematics".
The final (third) “Olympic” round was held in person and took place on May 16-17 at the Volga State Technical University (Yoshkar-Ola, Russia).
In total, 94 students from 56 universities and branches of universities of the Russian Federation, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Slovenia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and other countries participated in the third round of the mathematical Internet Olympiad 2019. In connection with the extensive geography of the participants - "Olympians" the final round was also taken at the Ariel University (Ariel, Israel) and the University of Primorsky (Slovenia), and more than 30 leading Russian and foreign scientists and teachers took part in the Program and Organizing Committee.
Student of the URG-16-02 group of the branch of the Russian State University of Oil and Gas named after I.M. Gubkin in Tashkent Shamshod Botirov was among the strongest: he took second place among numerous candidates.
An Uzbek students was awarded a silver medal, a second degree diploma, and a nominal certificate granting the right to free participation in FIEB 2020.
In addition, Shamshod Botirov was awarded in the nomination "Winner of the National Championship": a memento and a certificate of merit from the National Foundation for the support of innovations in education.
