Uzbekistan sets penalty size for violation of legislation by citizens in the town-planning sphere

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The President signed a Law “On introducing amendments and addenda to the Criminal Code, the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Administrative Responsibility”.
The law defines a fine in the amount of from five (1 million 13 thousand soums) to ten (2 million 27 thousand soums) minimum wages for citizens violating legislation in the town-planning sphere in the Administrative Responsibility Code. Previously, there was a liability only in respect of officials.
In addition, a fine was imposed on officials in the amount of from twenty (4 million 54 thousand 600 soums) to thirty (6 million 81 thousand 900 soums) minimum wages for violating the requirements of technical regulations in the production of building materials, structures and products.
Now, the implementation of construction on land plots seized by citizens will result in a fine:
- for citizens from seventy (14 million 191 thousand 100 soums) to one hundred (20 million 273 thousand soums) minimum wages;
- for officials from one hundred (20 million 273 thousand soums) to one hundred and fifty (30 million 409 thousand 500 soums) minimum wages.
Driving vehicles by drivers engaged in the carriage of passengers or goods, in the absence of a certificate of completion of their qualifications, imposes a fine in the amount of one (202 thousand 730 soums) of the minimum wage.
These changes and additions take effect in three months.
