Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A national telecom operator of Uzbekistan – Uzbektelecom launched a peer-to-peer network Uz-IX.
The creation of the Uz-IX peering network will allow localization of the world’s popular Internet resources and portals, as well as form projects for the development of high-quality national content, which will have a positive impact on the accessibility of Internet access services.
Based on the experience of foreign countries, the localization of Internet traffic in the country is at least 60%. The implementation of this project in Uzbekistan will significantly optimize the download of the international Internet channel and ensure the rational distribution of Internet resources.
A joint project of Uzbektelecom with one of the largest providers of media content by the Russian company Ivi.ru, which allows to provide locally high-quality, licensed media content in Uzbekistan in the form of foreign films, TV shows, music, etc. .d
The Uz-IX network is an infrastructure managed by Uzbektelecom, where all participants (peering partners) can exchange traffic directly with each other.
A member of a peer-to-peer network may be a legal entity providing Internet access services (Internet service providers, mobile operators), hosting services (content providers), services providing access to media content that has a corresponding valid license for services rendered.
It should be especially noted that the creation of a new peering network “Uz-IX” is not an alternative or a replacement for the existing peer-to-peer network “TAS-IX”. Uzbektelecom is still a member of the TAS-IX and the user of the TAS-IX traffic exchange point.
