Uzbek-Korean engineering design center for agricultural machinery opens in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A solemn opening ceremony of the Uzbek-Korean engineering design center for agricultural machinery took place in Tashkent. The main objectives of the Center is to conduct research and innovation work on applied issues of agricultural equipment.
The center was created to further develop the scientific and technical potential in the field of agricultural machinery, to conduct a unified scientific, technical and investment policy aimed at developing new types of agricultural machinery, creating modern production facilities for producing high-performance agricultural machinery and mechanization tools, conducting research and innovation work on applied issues of agricultural machinery, the development of new types of agricultural machinery for the cultivation of resource to the agrotechnology of cotton, grain, horticultural, vineyard, vegetable and melon crops, as well as other types of special equipment.
The center will cooperate with leading foreign research institutes, engineering centers, manufacturing companies and international organizations in the field of mechanical engineering, including the Korea Institute for the Development of Technology under the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy of the Republic of Korea.
The Center is the successor to the rights and obligations of the reorganized OKB-Tractor and KB-UzAgrotech, including rights to intellectual property, research and development and other technical documentation, as well as scientific and technical projects and contracts concluded for the implementation data organizations.
Within the framework of the opening of the Center, the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy of South Korea signed three memorandums of understanding on cooperation in the field of agricultural engineering.
The document envisages strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation and the exchange of advanced technologies between the two countries, as well as the creation of the Uzbek-Korean design and technology center for agricultural about engineering in Uzbekistan. In accordance with the memorandum, the Uzbek side provides production facilities and provides for their reconstruction, the Korean side - the necessary equipment for organizing the activities of the joint center.
The organizations responsible for the implementation of the signed memorandum are from the Uzbek side Uzagrotekhmash, from the Korean side the Korean Institute for the Development of Technology under the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy of the Republic of Korea.
