Ambassador of Uzbekistan presents his credentials to the OSCE Secretary General

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 30 November 2018, Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to the Republic of Austria Sherzod Asadov handed over his credentials as Permanent Representative to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe to OSCE Secretary General Thomas Greminger.
In a conversation after the ceremony, Thomas Greminger highly appreciated the dynamically developing relations between the OSCE and Uzbekistan, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan said.
According to the OSCE Secretary General, the large-scale reforms carried out under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev have brought Uzbekistan to a fundamentally new level of political development and offer concrete opportunities for expanding interaction with the OSCE.
It was particularly noted that the priority directions of the Development Strategy of Uzbekistan for 2017-2021 are fully consonant with the goals and priorities of the OSCE in all areas.
Thomas Greminger stressed that the results of recent visits to Uzbekistan, including his visit in June 2018, the heads of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights, the High Commissioner on National Minorities, representatives of the current Italian Chairmanship and other experts of the organization, as well as the successful holding in Uzbekistan in co-operation with the OSCE of an international conference on the role of young people in preventing and countering violent extremum the ism and radicalization leading to terrorism (June 2018) and the Asian Forum for Human Rights (November 2018) inspire confidence in the continued productive continuation of cooperation with Uzbekistan.
