Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The main mission of the Ministry of Public Education and its units is development of a harmoniously developed generation. This was stated by the Minister of Public Education Sherzod Shermatov.
According to him, the work of the system should be based on three principles: quality, fairness and transparency.
Sherzod Shermatov said that the ministry received more than 3,700 proposals for resolving existing problems in the sphere. At the same time, he noted that the Ministry should solve two key issues - to increase the authority of the teacher and the intelligentsia in society.
He noted that the society had a negative opinion about the work of the teacher. He also criticized the involvement of teachers in landscaping works.
Also teachers are daily engaged in paper work instead of teaching children. According to him, in the average they spend about four hours to fill out various certificates and forms.
"We made calculations and realized that for the time spent on paper work, it is necessary to pay about 1.8 trillion soums. Instead, the teacher could work on improving themselves,” the minister said. He noted that the image of teachers needs to be improved in the country.
If an uneducated person is more authoritative than an educated person, our country will never be able to move, Shermatov added.
The head of the ministry stated that the ministry was instructed to review the entire financial system of public education, which should henceforth be managed by the ministry and the head of the complex of the Cabinet of Ministers.
He stressed that it is necessary to ensure transparency in the use of funds. In his opinion, if there is a monetary relationship between the teacher and the student, the teacher loses attention and authority, the scales of justice are violated.
