Airport for business aviation to start to service aircraft in 2020

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- An airport for business aviation, which is being built at the airfield in Kibray district of Tashkent region, will begin to receive aircrafts and provide services to passengers in 2020.
At the moment, construction work began on the territory of the new airport. The airport will consist of two terminals: the first for government officials and foreign delegations, the second for businessmen for 250 passengers.
Now work is under way on construction of landing and take-off strips, which will be 4 kilometers long and 75 meters wide.
There are also preparatory works for construction of a helicopter hangar. The airport apron can simultaneously receive and send up to 20 aircraft.
The first stage of construction is planned to be completed by 2020 - by that time the airport will already start to accept aircrafts and render services to passengers.
Within the second stage additional buildings and structures will be built, including a hotel.
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev approved the project “Construction of a modern airport complex of civil (business) aviation on the basis of the airfield “Tashkent-Vostochny “ in June 2017. The cost of the project is US$140 million.
