Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Small industrial zones (SIZs) are being established in two regions of Uzbekistan in accordance with the resolution of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev from 29 March 2018.
SIZs are created in Kashkadarya and Surkhandarya regions of Uzbekistan. Seven SIZs are created on the territory of almost 30 hectares in Kashkadarya region and 9 SIZs - on the territory of more than 55 hectares in Surkhandarya region.
SIZs are created on the basis of unused production areas and objects of state property and economic companies with a share of the state.
According to the decisions of the head of state, immovable state property in the SIZs is provided to business entities for long-term lease for a period of 10 years. If the enterprises fulfill the business plan, create and save jobs, and also pay taxes and other mandatory payments on time, the ownership of these objects will pass to the businesses.
The Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan will provide credit lines for US$75 million for co-financing investment projects in the SIZs (US$25 million for projects in Kashkadarya region and US$50 million for projects in Surkhandarya region).
The funds will be used to purchase imported equipment and components to them.
