Uzbekistan’s industrial production hits 44.5 trln. soums in 1Q

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Enterprises of Uzbekistan, according to preliminary data, produced industrial products for 44.5 trillion soums in January-March 2018, which rose by 11.8% compared to the same period of 2017.
The main factor in the growth of total industrial production was increase in production in the manufacturing industry by 7.6% (contribution to the increase in total industrial production 5.8 points), mining and quarrying by 36.9% (contribution to the increase 5.3 points), electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning by 5.2% (contribution to the increase of 0.4 points) and water supply, sewerage, collection of and waste disposal by 32.9% (contribution the increase of 0.3 points).
The volume of goods produced by enterprises of the mining industry and quarry development totaled 7.6 trillion soums or 17.1% of the total industry.
In the mining industry by types of products compared to the corresponding period last year, there is an increase in production of crushed stone by 2.2 times, kaolin by 97.0%, gravel by 44.0%, gas condensate by 19.4%, coal by 18.4% and natural gas by 6.4%, while oil production is reduced by 10.3%.
The volume of manufactured products by manufacturing enterprises in January-March 2018 amounted to 32.8 trillion soums or 73.7% of the total industry.
In the structure of manufacturing industry, the share of high-tech industries amounted to 1.3% (in January – March 2017 - 1.8%), medium - high-tech – 27.2% (18.4%), medium-low technology-30.9% (26.4%) and low-technology 40.6% (53.4%).
At the same time, in this industry compared to with the corresponding period of the previous year, the production of tractors increased 6.1 times, passenger cars (without specialized) by 44.7%, automobile engines by 43.5%, paints and varnishes based on acrylic or vinyl polymers by 19.3%, diesel fuel by 18.2%, motor gasoline by 11.6% and vegetable oil the production of cotton fiber, tobacco, Portland cement, buses and trucks decreased by 2.9% compared to the same period last year.
The volume of products produced by enterprises of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning made up 3.6 trillion soums (8.2% of the total industry).
In this industry, in January-March 2018, compared with the corresponding period last year, increased production, transmission and distribution of electricity, steam and air conditioning systems by 5.5% and the production and distribution of gaseous fuels by 1.2%.
The volume of products produced by enterprises of water supply, Sewerage, waste collection and disposal amounted to 446.3 billion soums (1% of the total volume of industry-news).
Compared with the corresponding period last year, a growth of recyclable materials containing ferrous metals 71.2%, recyclables of aluminum containing at 50,1%, services for the treatment and distribution of water through the water supply by 19.5%, services-removal, transport of waste waters and their treatment by 10.4%.
As a result of the measures taken to expand the range and stimulate production of finished products, the production of consumer goods reached 13.4 trillion soums and compared with January-March 2017 increased by 5.2%, the share in the total volume of industry was 30.1%.
Compared with January-March 2017, in the structure of consumer goods in January-March 2018 there was an increase in the share of production of non-food products from 48.9% to 60.5%.
In the structure of industrial production of Uzbekistan, the largest share falls on Tashkent region and Tashkent (16.0% of the national volume of industry), Navoi (11.8%), Andijan (9.9%), Kashkadarya (7.3%), Fergana (6.2%) region.
At the same time, the smallest share falls on Jizzakh and Surkhandarya (1.5%), Syrdarya (2.2%), Namangan (2.3%) and Khorezm (2.9%) regions.
It should be said that implementation of high-tech projects for production of competitive products contributed to a significant increase in production in Surkhandarya (+43.3% compared to January-March 2017), Andijan (+33.6%), Khorezm (+20.2%), Kashkadarya (+13.3%) regions and the Republic of Karakalpakstan (+12.9%).
The analysis of differentiation of industrial production per capita shows the excess of the average national figure (1.36 million soums), Navoi region (5.47 million soums), Tashkent (2.87 million soums), Tashkent (2.48 million soums) and Andijan (1.45 million soums) regions.
In the context of the regions, high growth rates of the average per capita production of industrial products are observed in Surkhandarya (+40.4% compared to January-March 2017), Andijan (+31.4%) and Khorezm (+18.3%) regions. At the same time, low growth rates are observed in Samarkand (-3.5%), Bukhara (-0.8%) and Navoi (-0.2%) regions.
The dynamic development of industrial activity of small businesses provided the growth of industrial production by the corresponding period last year by 2.8%, while the share of small businesses in the industry was 28.8%.
In terms of regions, the largest share of small business is observed in Tashkent (67.1% of the total industry), Namangan (57.9%), Samarkand (53.2%) and Jizzakh (48.7%) regions. At the same time, the smallest share of small businesses is observed in Navoi region (11.3%), the Republic of Karakalpakstan (11.8%), Tashkent (16.6%) and Kashkadarya (17.4%) regions.
Today the country has about 51 thousand industrial enterprises, of which Tashkent has 12330 enterprises 5518 – Fergana, 5380 – Tashkent, 4989 – Andijan, 3905 – Namangan, 3837 – Samarkand, 2261 – Bukhara, 2190 – Khorezm, 2147 – Kashkadarya, 1951 – Jizzakh, 1718 – Surkhandarya, 1585 – Navoi, 1130 – Syrdarya region and 1455 enterprises in the Republic of Karakalpakstan.
During January-March of the current year, more than 3,000 industrial enterprises were newly created in the republic, of which about 70% are located in Tashkent, Fergana, Tashkent, Andijan, Namangan and Samarkand regions.
