Uzbekistan and Turkey are preparing agreement on preferential trade

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Ministry of Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan held a second round of talks with representatives of the Ministry of Economy and Customs of the Republic of Turkey to discuss the draft Agreement on preferential trade between two states.
From the Uzbek side, experts from the Ministry of Foreign Trade, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Economy, the State Customs Committee, the Uzstandard Agency and Uzbekekspertiza JSC participated in the negotiations.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Trade, during the negotiations, the text of the draft Agreement on preferential trade, as well as the list of goods, to which benefits and other privileges will be applied within the framework of trade relations between the two countries, were discussed.
Following the meeting, it was planned to continue negotiations at the expert level with a view to achieving mutually beneficial terms and preparing the text of the Agreement for signature.
On 25 October 2017, during the visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Turkey, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry of Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Turkey aimed at further development of Uzbek- economic sphere.
