Uzbek leader congratulates women with International Women’s Day

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 7 March, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated the women of the country with the International Women’s Day.
"Tenderness and beauty, intellect and devotion, love, dedication and many other wonderful qualities inherent in women, from time immemorial, have been the source of the noblest human feelings and deeds. The best works of art, poems and songs, masterpieces of architecture all over the world are dedicated to women,” the President of Uzbekistan said.
“Caring for a woman, who is the support of the family and society, filling our life with joy and beauty, and giving her due respect always have been an integral part of the mentality of our people,” Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.
"Thanks to you, dear women, our life acquires an even deeper meaning, is illuminated by the light of love and kindness, peace and prosperity reign in our homes," he added.
"Every man in our native Uzbekistan desires first of all that his caring mother, his family, his wife and children are happy, and, in the words of the great Alisher Navoi, is ready to dedicate his whole life to this," he stressed.
In his speech, Shavkat Mirziyoyev dwelled on the work to improve the living and working conditions of women, protect their interests, motherhood and childhood, as well as the problems to be solved.
Over the past year, the dialogue with the people, including women, has been given the status of state policy, the head of the country said. Responses to the society’s requests were programs directed to develop a network of pre-school educational institutions, improve the health care system, solve the housing problem, create new jobs.
"Each of us understands that these are only the first steps on the big way. All of us should make a lot of efforts to work for the sake of renewing our lives, improving the welfare of our mothers and sisters, gave the expected practical results, "Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized.
The President also touched upon world problems - the strengthening of international terrorism, extremism, drug trafficking, illegal migration, trafficking in human beings, and aggravation of environmental problems.
To address these problems, Uzbekistan attaches particular importance to development of cooperation with neighboring countries. The attitude towards compatriots working and studying abroad has radically changed. Conditions are created for the return of specialists and investors from Uzbekistan working abroad, he said.
"To improve the spiritual and moral atmosphere in our society, we changed our attitude toward those who, stumbled, by ignorance fell under the influence of religious extremist trends. We turned our faces to these people, listened to their concerns, and it gives its results. Thousands of such citizens have returned to normal life today, "the president said.
Uzbek leader said that the Government sets task to realize dreams and aspirations of women and ensuring their interest whenever it adopts projects or programmes, aimed at further development of cities and villages.
The country has launched a new program "Obod Qishloq" ("A well-developed village"). Its implementation will serve to improve the living standards of the population, especially women, he said.
"I want to wish you: be always healthy and happy for your families, children, our whole country! For when a woman is happy, the entire society is happy, "the Uzbek president said at the end.
On 2 March, the President signed a resolution on awarding 28 girls with the Zulfiya state award. The award ceremony took place at the event.
On 7 March, Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree on conferring honorary titles and awarding orders and medals to 38 women in honor of 8 March.
