Nine checkpoints at Uzbek-Tajik border opened

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Starting from 1 March 2018, nine checkpoints have been opened across the Uzbek-Tajik state borders, the press service of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said.
The automobile checkpoints Jartepa (Sarazm), Kushkent (Ura-Tube), Uchkurgan (Khavatag), Khavastabad (Zafarabad), Bekabad (Khashtyak), Yakutia ), Pap (Navbunyod), Ravat (Ravot), Gulbahor (Ayvaj) and the railway checkpoint Amuzang (Khoshadi) resumed their works.
As expected, the first passenger train on the route "Kulyab-Moscow" will proceed through the railway crossing point "Amuzang" ("Khoshadi") starting from 7 March 2018.
The opening ceremonies of border points were held in a solemn and friendly atmosphere with the participation of official representatives of the two countries, as well as residents of the border areas.
