Legislative Chamber: New resolution to create competitive environment

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis supported the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers on 23 February 2018, noting its need and timeliness.
According to the documents, all legal entities that have licenses of non-governmental educational institutions, as well as state educational institutions, will now be able to participate in the training, retraining and professional development of drivers.
The new resolution was a reaction of the Cabinet of Ministers to the appeal of deputies to create equal opportunities in this direction for all organizations.
"The reaction of the Cabinet of Ministers to the appeals of deputies with introduction of changes to the resolution once again demonstrates the effectiveness of interaction between the legislative and executive branches," the lower house of parliament said.
Earlier on 4 September 2017, the Cabinet of Ministers adopted a resolution “On further improving the system of training and retraining, as well as improving the skills of drivers by introducing innovative teaching methods”.
As noted in the message of the Legislative Chamber, this decision was adopted to strengthen the provision of guaranteed by the state the personal rights of citizens, fixed at the constitutional level, which is based on the right to life.
“The state of road safety directly affects the safety of life and health of citizens. The urgency of this problem is also increasing with the increase in the number of vehicles and the traffic on the roads,” the statement said.
According to the information of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan, in 2016 more than 970 road accidents were recorded due to the fault of drivers of vehicles engaged in the transportation of passengers and cargo. As a result, over 350 people were killed, about a thousand people were injured. "In total, this category of drivers committed almost 4 thousand violations of traffic rules," - emphasized in the message of the Legislative Chamber.
