Agreement between Uzbekistan and Russia enters into force

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- An agreement on organized recruitment and attraction of citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan for temporary work in the territory of the Russian Federation entered into force on 21 December 2017, the press service of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said.
Uzbekistan and Russia signed this document on 5 April 2017 during the state visit of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Russia.
The agreement was developed on the basis of need to streamline and further improve the legal regulation of the movement of labor, as well as ensure the protection of the rights and legitimate interests of migrant workers who perform temporary work in the Russian Federation.
The document determines the procedure and conditions for interaction between the parties in the implementation of an organized recruitment and involvement of citizens of Uzbekistan for temporary work in Russia.
Within the framework of the document, the parties will determine the number of employees, their specialties and receiving regions, based on the real need for labor resources.
Also, the authorized bodies of Russia will introduce an order, in line with which labor migrants will be provided with solid guarantees of legal protection, compliance with minimum wage requirements, ensuring decent living conditions, medical and social insurance.
