Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan will increase a number of flights between the cities of the two countries, the Ministry of Investment and Development of Kazakhstan said.
The aviation administration of Uzbekistan and the Civil Aviation Committee of the Ministry of Investment and Development of Kazakhstan held negotiations. The parties agreed to increase the number of flights between the countries.
Starting from December 2017, Air Astana intends to increase the number of flights to Uzbekistan. In particular, the airline will increase the number of flights from 6 to 7 per week on the route Almaty-Tashkent.
Air Astana will also increase the number of flights from 3 to 4 a week on the route Astana-Tashkent from 3 December 2017.
In its turn, Uzbekistan Havo Yollari (Uzbekistan Airways) also plans to increase the number of flights to Kazakhstan. In particular, the airline will bring the number of flights on the route Tashkent - Almaty from 6 to 7 flights a week.
The number of flights from Tashkent to Astana will increase from 3 to 4 flights a week from 4 March 2018.
As a result, the total number of flights between the countries will reach 22 flights a week, so passengers will be able to fly to Tashkent from Almaty twice a day and on a daily basis from Astana.
In the future, it is planned to open flights to Samarkand, Bukhara and Urgench from the Kazakh cities.
